What is a 'splash page'? Look it up. Explain what they are and how they are used. Find an example of a splash page in Google Images. Save the image to you computer and then upload it to your blog post. Hint - see below.

According to Wikipedia, a splash page is "an image that appears while a game or program is loading. The term may also be used to describe an introduction page on a website." In other words, it is a visual that will pop up temporarily until whatever it is that you are waiting on has completed loading or it is the first thing that appears when you navigate to a website. They are used to enhance the overall appearance of your site. In order to create a splash page you must mess with the codes.  Provided below is an example:

Read THIS blog post by a teacher. I mean actually read it. Take it in. Think about it. And then, write about it. What do you think about it? What is the teacher trying to say? In your own words explain what "the main event" is. Do you agree or disagree with the writer?

I think that this teacher is absolutely correct. Although we learn new things and acquire knowledge throughout our academic career, that is not its main purpose. He is saying that schools main purpose is to prepare young people for the obstacles, hardships, and adversity that they will undoubtedly face in their lives. The teacher is begging his students (and all students) not to give up and not to quit; otherwise we are missing the point of education and will not be fully prepared to take on the real adult world and be successful.
